The Diary Of West Bengal Story :
The story follows Suhasini Bhattacharya, a Hindu woman from Bangladesh, whose life turns upside down when someone brutally murders her parents in a genocide. Fleeing the violence, Suhasini crosses the border into West Bengal, seeking refuge. However, her journey is far from over. Islamic radicals aid her by coercing her into converting to Islam under the guise of providing help. This conversion is not just a personal transformation but is part of a larger political strategy to manipulate demographics and influence voting patterns.
As Suhasini navigates her new life, she entangles herself in a web of deceit and manipulation. She falls victim to “Love Jihad,” a term used in the film to describe a situation where a man, Prateek, disguises himself as Atik to win her trust and love, only to exploit her for his ulterior motives. This plotline highlights the themes of betrayal and the exploitation of vulnerable individuals for political and personal gain.
The film portrays a series of harrowing events, including political conspiracies, religious discrimination, and personal tragedies. It aims to shed light on the exploitation of foreign nationals as votebanks and the socio-political turmoil in the region. The intense narrative receives support from strong performances, particularly by Arshin Mehta, who plays Suhasini. The film’s cinematography, editing, and background score work together to create a gripping and emotionally charged atmosphere.

The Diary Of West Bengal Story Deep Analysis and Explanation :
The film starts with riots taking place in Bangladesh. A minority Hindu family is killed, and their daughter is kidnapped, while some girls escape and go into hiding. We see Suvasini, whose family has been murdered. A girl present with her asks if it is a crime to be a Hindu. Then the girl says that in a country where the government is governed by strict law, it is a crime. These girls talk to an agent who plans to send them to India.
We see the agent telling someone on the phone that the next entire consignment is ready. Then he comes to the girls and informs them they have to leave this place in two days and explains how to go to India. She gives her saved money to that agent. After two days, that agent takes her to the forest area in the darkness of Verma, where Hindus and Rohira reside. Inside the forest, the agent hands over these people to some Muslims present there and tells them that these people will help them further. The man who will take you tells you that you people will go to India via Sundarban, which is not for humans. We cannot guarantee how many of these people will reach India.
Then everyone is made to sit in different boats. The boat leaves only at nine. Agent Ahmed picks up one of the girls and goes to the nine. The girls present in the nine screams, but no one listens. Ahmed says, you all go to India; I will make her my wife. The next morning, everyone disembarks on the edge of the forest and moves ahead on foot. After some time, they reach the border of India in Bengal, where they meet another group, one of whom is Qureshi. He tells them all that they are welcome to India and that they have been killed and driven away by Verma, who did not find shelter even in Bengal. But nothing will happen to them in India; the government here will help them all. Then their leader, Ghazi Khan, says all of you call your brothers and relatives here.
Rohingyan of Myanmar and Burma says that they will give all of you identity cards and the rest of the facilities, but you all have to say no in favour of the government here. Then a woman comes forward and attacks Ghaz Khan because his daughter was kidnapped at night. Ghazi says to take her to the forest and kill her, then Suvasini. She falls at his feet and apologizes, thereby saving the woman. There are camps in the forest where these people are kept. At night, everyone cooks by the fire. Then Qureshi says that the woman must be taught a lesson. Qureshi and Ghazi Khan pick up that woman and bring her; the other girls try to stop them. Then Ghazi Khan says that unless you accept Islam, this is what will happen to you. Suhasini says that every religion teaches humanity; what religion is this? Then Ghazi Khan says that your turn will also come. Ghazi says that by killing you infidels, we get to heaven. Then the girl present there says that she spits on such heaven. Hearing this, Ghazi Khan shoots her, and then the one who attacks Ghazi Khan. Everyone tortures women one by one. As soon as the Rohingyas come from Burma, they are happy to see it. The next morning, some government officials came there to get the Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, and ration cards made for the Rohingyas and the rest of the people.
That’s why Sneha’s name came. A girl comes out of her tent and says to Ghazi Khan that she does not want to die and accepts his religion. Ghazi becomes happy, and the Maulvi present there names her Razia Banu and gets her documents and everyone else’s documents made. Razia Banu gets married to Ghazi Khan at night. Everyone is celebrating. The son of the woman whom Ghazi Khan had killed does not know that his mother is dead. Suvasini is there with that child. Suhasini runs away into the forest. The child feels thirsty. Suwas goes to find water for him. When she returns, a bullet is fired and hits the child. Ghazi Khan’s man fires this bullet. Suhasini attacks him and runs away. Then on the way, she meets a man who seems educated. Suhasini attacks him too. The boy tells her that his name is Prateek and reveals himself to be a publisher who has come here to write books on Sundar. A scared Suhasini says Prateek takes out his gun and leaves from there with Suhasini. By morning, Prateek comes to the city with Suhasini. She tells her story to Prateek and says she will not return to Verma. Those demons have killed her, and her family is in very bad condition. After this, Prateek comes to his village, Murshidabad, with Suhasini. He says that for a long time, our district has been under the occupation of today’s Bangladesh, i.e., East Pakistan, and the Muslim population is very high here, and there are riots here. Things like this keep happening. My family got wiped out in a riot.
Prateek reaches his home. Housemaid Roza comes out and takes the luggage and takes Suhasini inside the room. In the evening, Prateek says that he doesn’t like it here, which is why he is in Delhi. He will leave. Suhasini says to take her to Delhi too. Pratik thinks it will take at least a month because she has come to Bengal illegally. If the police come to know, they will send you back. Suhasini says to go with her to Bangladesh. Many people have come in front of her, and Indian papers have also been made. Prateek says to leave all this; it is a political matter. Then Suhasini says that the Indian government has also made a law for the Hindus persecuted by foreigners. Prateek says that the state government has not implemented it here. Prateek comes out of the house alone at night. A man offers Namaz at the Dargah. Prateek calls him Bhaijaan.
Friends, Prateek is a Muslim who is doing this brainwashing by pretending to be a Hindu. Mehmood says that some girl has come with you. Prateek says that she came with her people but was running away from there; then I caught her. Mehmood says that he should have killed her. Prateek says that he will do it but, before that, her Garuda has to be destroyed. Friends, Mahmood is an MP from here, and while giving a speech among the people of his religion, he says that their numbers are everything. The more they are, the more votes they will get. The Maulvi present there says that they should have elections.
The next day, Suhasini says that she has to go to the temple. Prateek says that there is only one temple left here, and then he takes her to the temple, but the priest here also preaches Islam under the guise of propagating all religions. Hearing this, Suhasini leaves from there.
In the next scene, we see MP Mehmood, the party worker who is giving him a meeting. He asks what happened to Pragya, a reporter who came from Delhi. Then we see that Mehmood’s men are chasing Pragya. They catch Pragya and the cameraman and say that they will not let them enter here and tear his kurta and write ‘VAT FOR MADAM’ on its back. Then a boy comes there and stops them. Mahmood’s men. When they threaten him, he takes out a bomb from his pocket, and Mehmood’s men run away in fear. Then he saves Pragya and takes her away from there. This makes MP Mehmood very angry. He says that if they get scared of a man, how will they capture the booty? Pratik is present there and tells what to do with that dynamite guy. Mehmood says to dispose of him.
We see the boy Vishal fighting in an office. Then reporter Pragya comes there, and he tells her he has got a job in Canada. For that, he just needs a certificate, but these people are not giving it to him. Pragya says don’t fight; she will get him the certificate in a few days. Suhasini and Rosa, the Muslim maid of Prateek’s house, become friends. She takes him to Dargah and praises her religion and on this pretext tries to control Suhasini’s brain. She asks him if she has heard of Zakir Nayak. Suhasini says that she has seen his videos; he talks lies. He gets people converted by speaking. Prateek comes to his house, but Suhasini is not there, so he gets angry at Roza. Then he goes to the press, and Suhasini meets him there. She tells him that he had forgotten his phone at home. It has a colour number on it. A call was received from a person who was asking about one Atiq Khan and two friends. Here we come to know that Prateek’s real name is Atiq Khan. Then he tells Suhasini that he is a publisher who prints and publishes books of Vedas and Puranas. Hearing his words, Suhasini gets very impressed with him and says that he is doing a lot of work for religion and society.
After a few days, Suhasini asks when he will send her to Delhi. Prateek says that there is a problem with getting her papers made; it would be better if she married someone here, as this will give her citizenship here. Suhasini says that she cannot even think about marriage. It is her past which she does not want to forget so that she can do something for the Hindus who are being persecuted minorities all over the world. Prateek says that she can do it even after marriage. Prateek says that if it happens, then she should marry him for show; then they will shift to Delhi.
Suhasini does not give any answer. The next day, Prateek marries Suhasini. He gets the papers done and tells Suhasini that from today they are legally husband and wife. Suhasini says that if it were not for his favour and victory, she would never have done this marriage. Then she says that this is just a marriage of show. Prateek says he will always support her. Then, riots start outside. Pratik says that the election results have come, and the winning party is celebrating, and those who did not vote are being punished. Suhasini gets scared seeing this.
The next morning, we see reporter Pragya. Suhasini comes to meet her and tells her that it was she who called her. Suhasini tells Pragya that she is a Hindu who came illegally from a neighbouring country. She lost everything and came here in the last hope, but the situation is the same here as well. Pragya asks her cameraman to record Suhasini’s words.
At night, Pratik comes home drunk. Suhasini was shocked to see this. She had forbidden him, yet he went out of the house. Suhasini asks what? Then he says that being married, he cannot express his feelings to his wife. Suhasini says that if he wants to express his feelings, then say so, but if he wants to be harsh, then let her tell him that this is just a marriage of show and nothing else.
The next day, two Maulvis say that they should not prolong the matter too much and eliminate the girl. Then one Maulvi says that the prince’s heart has fallen on her. Prateek’s brother MP Mehmood says to work with his mind. He tells Prateek how long he can hide the fact that he is his younger brother from that girl. Prateek says that this happened to him when he got the news of her talking to the media. Maulvi says that the news is also that she is going to Delhi. In the next scene, we see that in the area of MP Mahmood, the Maulvi announces that from today, the Sharia law is being implemented in their area. Watching TV, listening to songs, and keeping mobile phones is banned. Women should not go out of the house without purdah. Those who have broken this law.
Suhasini asks Roza what this is all about. Roza says that this happens in their religion. Then she tells her story that she was married. A few days after the marriage, one day, she had gone to her aunt’s house nearby with her brother-in-law. When she came back, her husband divorced her. She had no support and cried a lot. Then Maulvi Sahib said that if Roza wanted to live with her husband, it would be justified according to Shariat only after Halala. Roza’s husband agreed, but Roza did not agree. Her husband said that she should decide with whom Halala will happen. Roza cried and pleaded, but no one listened to her. Her husband got married for the second time. Roza says that at that time, the paths of her life were closed. She again went to Maulvi Saheb and lay hungry and thirsty outside his mansion. Then, out of pity, he got her a job here. Hearing this, Suhasini also started crying. Roza tells Suhasini that she is not safe here, and saying this she leaves from there.
The next day, Suhasini goes to meet reporter Pragya. She says that Prateek has forbidden her to go out, which is why she has come secretly. She says that she needs to go to Delhi. Pragya says that tomorrow they are going to Delhi by 2 o’clock train. She will wait for her at the station. Suhasini leaves from there. Then, on the way, Suhasini meets Sneha, who is begging. Sneha tells her that he divorced her only after a year, and she got into this condition. Then Suhasini gets a call from Roza. She tells her that she is cheating on them. The person who is Prateek is MP Mehmood’s brother, Atiq Khan. She was put on the job to brainwash women like her into Islam. He says that MP Mehmood and Atiq have a huge network and then the phone gets disconnected.
Suhasini comes home in the evening. Then Prateek says that he had explained to her not to go out of the house. She says that Roza wanted to say something to her, but before that, she disappeared. Prateek says that she should not keep up with other people. Then Suhasini says that the people who came with her have become citizens of this country, and she is being fooled. Then she says that she knows that he is Atiq Khan, brother of MP Mahmood. Hearing this, Atiq comes to his senses and says that he is also a devil. He tries to force Suhasini. Then Suhasini shoots him with her gun.
Suhasini runs away from there and goes to the station. Mehmood’s men are searching for her. Then they go to the station, and she runs away. Vishal sees her and goes to save her, but the goons attack Vishal. Pragya calls Suhasini, but no one picks up her call. On the other hand, Mehmood’s goons rape Suhasini and leave her in the room. Reporter Pragya reaches Delhi and gets Suhasini’s interview telecasted, in which Suhasini narrates her views. On the other hand, Suhasini is brought before MP Mahmood. He beats her and says that he will avenge his brother’s death by marrying her. The Maulvi gets the marriage done, but Suhasini does not accept the marriage. And Mahmood’s man sitting there cuts Suhasini’s throat with a sword. The film ends with this.
